Oscar-winning actress and former ELLE cover star Kate Winslet has confirmed she is pregnant with her third child, due at the end of the year.

This will be her first baby with her new husband, Ned Rocknroll, the nephew of businessman Sir Richard Branson, whom she married in a secret ceremony in New York in December.

The Titanic star already has a 12-year-old daughter, Mia, with her ex-husband, director Jim Threapleton and Joe, her son with second husband, the director Sam Mendes, is nine.

37-year-old Kate has made no secret of her love of motherhood. When she was awarded her CBE for services to drama last year she revealed how she chatted with the Queen after being asked how much she enjoyed acting.

'I said yes, I liked it, but not as much as being a mother. She [the Queen] said, "It is the best job".'

With Kate Middleton expecting the Queen's third grandchild in July, could the two Kate's bond over their new babies?

Of course the other big question now is, what the new baby will be named? Will it be a Winslet or a Rocknroll? And in case you hadn’t already guessed, no, Rocknroll isn’t Ned’s original name. Born Ned Abel Smith, he legally changed it. (We don’t get it either).

We're excited that, with actress Jennifer Love Hewitt also having announced her pregnancy today, we’ll have a whole new crop of babies playing in the Hollywood playpen soon.
