Keira Knightley wore a Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2012 dress to the London Film Festival premiere of A Dangerous Method, her latest film.
She teamed the black and dove-grey midi-dress with Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe heels, producing a striking monochromatic image on the LFF’s red carpet.
‘The resort collection was inspired by Hollywood glamour so I am thrilled that Keira Knightly chose to wear one of my dresses for such a high profile event,’ Ilincic told us. ‘She looks fantastic.’
In the new film, Knightley plays Sabina Spielrein, a Russian analyst torn between Michael Fassbenders’ Carl Jung and Viggo Mortensen’s Sigmund Freud. Knightley found some scenes, including one of Jung spanking Spielrein, so risqué upon first reading the script that she nearly declined the role. Director David Cronenberg convinced her to stay with the project based on his vision for the film—but the actress didn’t find filming the scenes easy.
‘I did a couple of shots of vodka—definitely—beforehand, and then a couple of glasses of champagne as a celebration of never having to do that again,’ Knightley said in an interview.
‘The film is about so much more than S&M but [those scenes] weren't particularly easy.’
