In the new series of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim and Kanye are filmed while getting ready for a night out in Manhattan; with her asking him, 'Don't you think this clutch is too busy for this?' Apparently Kanye wants Kim to 'evolve as a fashion icon' which in Kanye's mind means dressing more like him and being more edgy with her wardrobe choices. Cue a spate of monochromatic outfits, fierce shoes (designed by the rapper) and a move towards sleeker hairstyles in place of the big, tousled extensions she’s known for.
Of course Kim, along with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney, has been in the fashion business for a while managing their store Dash in Calabasas, Los Angeles and overseeing its expansion stateside. Avid fans of the show will remember that Kim and Kanye (now known affectionately as Kimye) have been pals for a long time, with Kanye swinging by for the launch of Dash in Manhattan.
The trio, also known as Kiki, Koko and Kourt, launched their clothing line - Kardashian Kollection – last year and it currently sells in Sears over in the US. Later this year it is dropping into 250 Dorothy Perkins stores this November.
The Kardashian Kollection, as it stands seems to be inspired by Kim's pre-Kanye wardrobe, so it will be interesting to see whether the designs change now Kanye is on the scene, after all he showed at Paris Fashion Week last season, with Kim sitting front row - taking notes, perhaps?
Of the Dorothy Perkins hook-up Kim wrote, 'Hi dolls!! My sisters and I are so thrilled to announce that we are launching our Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins stores in the UK!!
'This is such an exciting time and we can’t wait to head over to the UK later this year to launch the Kollection and visit all of our amazing fans’.
