Confirmed: ELLE favourite Kylie Minogue will be perching her famous derriere on the red chair vacated by Jessie J on the next series of The Voice.

‘#LOVERS I’m excited to announce that I’ll be coaching on @BBCTheVoiceUK next season!’ ran the feverish tweet as the BBC confirmed her appointment to press today.

‘I'm very excited to become a coach on The Voice. I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series,’ she added in a statement. ‘The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry and The Voice gives us all a part to play in that.

‘Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!’

Her ‘competition’ will be The Voice veterans Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones, and an as-yet unnamed fourth mentor, who will replace The Script’s Danny O'Donoghue.

Wonder whether little sister and former X Factor judge Dannii will be on hand for advice?
