‘Can we talk about your backside?’ can't really be a question that any woman relishes, but Kylie Minogue elegantly deals with the, erm, cheeky line of questioning on tonight's Jonathan Ross Show by saying she isn't the person to ask. 'Let me just ask it,' she replies, 'because it has its own PR team these days.'

The singer arrived at the studios wearing a printed Dolce & Gabbana frock and appears on the show in a sparkly embellished shift and a very glitzy pair of Christian Louboutins.

Kylie, whose album The Abbey Road Sessions, is out on Monday, also answers questions about her four-year relationships with Spanish model Andres Velencoso. ‘Sound the alarm, four years – I think it's a record,’ she jokes. When Jonathan comments on Andres’s good looks, she laughs, ‘He doesn't roll out of bed looking like that.’

But she adds, ‘I'm pretty settled. I don't know how you get more settled.’

Jonathan asks her for her career highlight, but Kylie fails to narrow it down to just one – unsurprising, perhaps, since she's celebrating 25 years in the business. ‘Firstly, getting a record deal. The Locamotion being a hit, which led to so many other things,’ she said.

But in the end she concluded that the thing that possibly stood out the most was 'performing at the Olympics'.

She is talking, of course, about the Sydney Olympics, in 2000, where she sang to the world while being wheeled around the arena on a giant, Priscilla Queen of the Desert-style stiletto shoe. Which we can agree sounds pretty memorable.

The Jonathan Ross Show is on tonight, Saturday 27 October, at 10.15pm on ITV1
