David Bowie may have been away for a while but he hasn’t lost his knack for clever collaborations.

This time, he's working with Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard.

For his last single, , actress Tilda Swinton played Bowie’s suburban housewife with fashion’s favourite models Andrej Pejic and Saskia de Brauw making cameos as obsessive stalkers.

In the video for The Next Day, the third single from his new album of the same name, Bowie has left suburbia for an even darker world.

Cotillard plays a prostitute, Gary Oldman is a priest, they are in a pub surrounded by religious iconography and there's even some self-flagellation for good measure - of course there is!

Directed by Floria Sigismundi, the brains behind Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors video, the video is surreal, strange and distinctively Bowie.
