‘I’m not going to lie,’ she told Australia’s Sunday Night TV show. ‘It was 27 hours, and I had made the decision not to have any painkillers—no epidural, no drugs, whatever. Each to their own. I’m crazy for not doing that. A lot of my friends who have had epidurals, they were like, ‘Oh, it was so great.’
She said that seeing husband Orlando Bloom’s face caused her to reconsider her decision.
‘I remember looking at Orlando and I was like, “Oh, honey.” And he was like, “Let me have the epidural. If you don’t want it I’ll take it, because right now I’m dying, watching you go through this pain.”
‘I didn’t realise that he was going to be such a big baby.’
The model mother said that four months in, she’s spending every moment with her son. Although walked in the Balenciaga show seven weeks after giving birth, she declines most jobs to focus on motherhood.
