The latest show to join the fashion competition genre will hit American TV viewers on 10 January.
Catwalk differs from its predecessors in the extremity of its time limitations. Each episode features four designers rushing to create full collections within—you guessed it—one full day. Judges Cynthia Rowley, James LaForce and Derek Blasberg provide the takedowns and appraisals at the end of each show.
‘Under these kind of time constraints, limited resources and sleep deprivation, several contestants just lost it and things got a little out of control—screaming, crying and one guy took off all of his clothes,’ Rowley told WWD. ‘I’m not sure how that one will be edited. But all of this makes the show very entertaining.’
As for Alexa? From the previews we’ve seen, she’s both muse and comfort to the stressed designers, and conducts her duties garbed in best of British labels.
British fans eager to see what goes on the Catwalk will have to wait. One of Chung’s representatives told us there are ‘no plans’ to air in the UK, but that may change depending on the reaction of the US audience.
