If you haven’t managed to find a TV show that quite fills the void left by Sex and the City, then Younger could be a contender.

From writer and producer Darren Star (who was also writer and executive producer of SATC), comes the new 12-episode series Younger based on the novel of the same name by Pamela Redmon Satran.

Like Sex and the City, the story revolves around the lives of four women in New York. Two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster plays Liza, a newly single mother who is attempting to get back into the working world, but she finds it near impossible having to compete with younger women. Then a chance encounter with a man in a bar helps convince her to pass herself off as a 26-year-old with the help of best friend Maggie (Debi Mazar).

More confident, she lands a job as an assistant to the unpredictable Diana (Miriam Shor) alongside colleague, 20-something Kelsey (Hilary Duff).

All she has to do is keep the secret she shares with Maggie quiet…

The show will air on US channel TV Land. 'Everyone… is so passionate about this show and working with Darren,' said TV Land president Larry W. Jones.
‘Younger… fits our brand with its humour and relatability. These are compelling characters that our audience will root for, love and love to hate.'
