But she didn't wear it to her birthday party on Saturday night in London.
For that, the material girl donned Givenchy's catwalk layered gold chains and crusifixes, defying her half-century to look younger than ever. She teamed the necklaces - one of our favourites for the new season - with a micro mini playsuit, sheer, puff sleeved overcoat and thigh high Stella McCartney boots - and a clutch bag baring her name in diamonds and studs.
She partied with her family and the team who work for her at London's Volstead nightclub on a dance floor emblazoned with a giant M. Daughter Lourdes reportedly serenaded her from a grand piano while guests enjoyed a three-tiered chocolate and raspberry birthday cake.
Noticeably absent from the party were some of Madonna's closest friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney. But she didn't let that dampen her party spirit.
