A pony club of Christopher Kane,Henry Holland, Bianca Jagger, Laura Carmichael, Chris O'Dowd, Billie Piper, Tinie Tempah and Zara Martin sipped from bottomless champagne glasses as the polo players did their thing.
Although the squelch of mud around YSL and Rupert Sanderson wedges made some women grimace, blazing blue skies just about cancelled out the inconvenience.
‘I love it when people don’t care about messing up nice designer things,’ Holland, who won’t be taking up polo as he’s allergic to horses, told us. ‘Why save them for special occasions?’
As guests stomped the divots at halftime, Downton Abbey star Carmichael, wearing a Christopher Kane biker jacket, reflected on her first polo experience. ‘I don’t really know the sport other than coming today, but it’s more dramatic than I thought it would be,’ she said. ‘And it hasn’t rained!’
