Hearts everywhere (ELLE's included) are breaking at the news that Prince Harry and Cressida Bonas have called time on their relationship.
The news - tweeted by BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt - comes as a surprise given the intermittent engagement rumours that have followed the young couple in the recent months.
We had high hopes for Cressida, being one of ELLE's style crushes.
Despite the unfortunate timing of the break-up (confirmed on the day of Will and Kate's anniversary), it has been described as 'amicable' and that 'they remain the best of friends'.
On the plus side, of course, there's now a prince back on the market #justsaying...
