As much as R-Patz would probably like to cast off his teen idol role as the fanged Edward Cullen in , it was this character that propelled the actor into mass fame and recognition. To reminisce, we remember the first time Bella (aka Kristen Stewart) first encounters the enigmatic cool kid.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

It might not be his biggest role to date, but it’s the moment the actor first truly entered our periphery - and it’s certainly the most traumatic for R-Patz fans. We recall the actor as Harry Potter’s Triwizard Tournament competitor, Cedric Diggory. (Which means we also can't help but recall a distressing scene involving a tampered Triwizard Cup. Sob.)

Cosmopolis

Directed by David Cronenborg and based on the Don DeLillo novel of the same name, Cosmopolis stars Pattinson as a slick Wall Street financier, Eric Packer. A particularly alarming moment sees the actor give a riveting speech, followed by him toying with a gun in his mouth. WARNING: the above clip is not recommended for the faint-hearted.

Remember Me

Romantic drama, Remember Me, stars R-Patz as Tyler Hawkins, a New York student who falls in love in the summer of 2001. The film looks all set for a happy ending until the temporal significance of September 2001 dawns on you. A particularly moving scene allows Pattinson to flex his acting chops as he confronts his on-screen father, Pierce Brosnan. Dramatic.

The Rover

Starring opposite Guy Pearce, this upcoming gritty drama set in the Australian outback sees Pattinson as Rey, the younger member of a gang who forms an unlikely bond with a lone drifter. What’s so special? A convincing performance from R-Patz, which sees him finally throwing off his pretty-boy Twilight bonds.
