There was always going to be heavy deliberation over who would take over Harrison Ford's iconic film role in a remake of Indiana Jones. Now rumours have begun to circulate that it may be none other than surprise candidate, Robert Pattinson.

Since being propelled to fame as vamp Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, Rob has made repeated attempts to throw off his teen heartthrob associations, opting for darker, more nuanced roles.

Now, with the casting the Disney's new Indiana Jones reboot going full steam ahead, and with the actor reportedly at the top of the indie shortlist to take the lead, could this be the moment for R-Patz to break out as an action hero?

Or, more pressingly – will the famous brown felt hat fit?

We can't wait to find out.
