‘Tis the season of Florence Welch. The redheaded singer made like Boticelli’s Venus when she serenaded Chanel’s audience from a scallop-shell stage at the S/S ’12 show.
Now it looks as though Welch’s promenade on Karl Lagerfeld’s arm at the end of the show was the prelude to a longer creative link-up, as the designer has photographed Welch for a series of single covers.
Lagerfeld art-directed and shot covers for a set of four limited-edition vinyl singles from Florence and the Machine. All the covers have been screen-printed, silver-foiled and hand-numbered, and house a white vinyl record within.
The first single, Shake it Out, is available for pre-order ahead of its 31 October release date. Three further singles featuring new images from Lagerfeld and Welch’s Paris shoot will be released over the next six months.
Florence and the Machine’s second album, Ceremonials, also drops on the 31st. We’re covering the launch show at Hackney Empire tonight, so check the site tomorrow morning for our view.
