Mother Monster is extending her domain from music into a new medium: film.

The singer and ELLE cover star announced via Twitter that she’ll make her film debut in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills, a sequel to 2010’s Machete, which starred Lindsay Lohan.

Gaga, whose videos already feel like cinematic events, shared the news on Twitter late last week: ‘Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.’

Gaga, part of a cast that also includes Amber Heard and Jessica Alba, plays a character dubbed La Chameleon. In the film poster, she wears thigh-high stockings, retro-style underpants, a wolf stole and a statement necklace, and holds a smoking gun.

Director Rodriguez also used Twitter to express his excitement about his newest star. ‘I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!’, he wrote.
