Azealia Banks exploded onto the music scene late last year with her attention grabbing debut single 212. If you gasped at her explicit debut, then her new track Liquorice is just as swear-y. But with such a huge butter-wouldn’t-melt smile, Azealia seems to be able to get away with as much swearing as she likes.

Liquorice has a thumping base-line and spitfire lyrics which would sound great in gritty clubs and is bound to get crowds jumping at her upcoming summer festival gigs (including Reading and Leeds, Bestival and Mallorca and Ibiza Rocks).

The music video was directed by Rankin and styled by Nicola Formichetti making it a very stylish affair.

Sounds Like: Scissor Sisters, TLC

Releasing When?: The ‘1991’ EP is out now and her debut album is out in September.
