Daniel Craig, Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris left secret agent-style covert ops behind for the Skyfall royal world premiere in London tonight.
The actors donned their finery for the red-carpet event at London’s Royal Albert Hall, also attended by Judi Dench, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory and Ralph Fiennes.
Marlohe chose a dramatic red ball gown by Vivienne Westwood. Harris sparkled in Marios Schwab’s autumn winter 2012 finale dress, with a silver sequinned bodice layer twinkling from beneath a floor-length black over-dress. She added more glitter with Jessica McCormack diamond earrings.
Craig wore a Bond-worthy tuxedo. So did new Bond villain Javier Bardem, who joined Livia Firth’s Green Carpet Challenge in his eco-friendly, custom-made Gucci dinner jacket. (Gucci released a statement promising that Bardem will exclusively wear Gucci Made to Order designs for all Skyfall promotional appearances.)
But back to the Bond girls. During a red-carpet interview, Marlohe, who plays Severine, described her character as ‘a mix of woman, male, dragon and black panther.’
And how did this hybrid creature enjoy appearing opposite Craig?
‘Kissing a very handsome man [who is] so talented is a nightmare,’ she said. ‘But for art, I would be able to sacrifice myself again.’
