Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, ELLE cover star Georgia May Jagger and a coterie of shimmering supermodels brought the Olympic stadium to a standstill as they paraded out in a series of custom made gold outfits to represent British fashion at the Closing Ceremony.

The outfits were created especially for the event by London’s leading design luminaries.

Moss and Campbell both wore with Kate’s gown a mermaid-like creation encrusted in gold and silver paillettes, and Campbell’s a staggered hem gown with a train speckled with myriad flecks of gold.

Jagger wore a fit-and-flare gown while Jourdan Dunn wore a white and gold gown topped off with a crown of feathers designed by Stephen Jones.

All the big guns were represented, with Lily Cole wearing a shimmering metallic tuxedo designed by Lily Donaldson wearing a curve-hugging Vivienne Westwood corset gown and the flame-haired Karen Elson in

David Bowie’s ‘Fashion’ blasted out through the stadium, a fitting tribute to a fashion industry worthy of such a global platform.
