On Wednesday 30 October ELLE HQ is hosting its very own Bake Off.
Why? Because we’re obsessed with cakes, bread, buns, tarts, pastries and roulades - and we know we’re not the only ones…
Exhibit A: Gizzi Erskine. The Sunday Times Magazine cook is as keen on cakes as we are - she’s agreed to judge ELLE’s Bake Off (no pressure)!
Exhibit B: Twittersphere. It’s packed with bun fans and the fashion world is particularly awash with crafty cooks. See our gallery of models turned bakers for proof.
Exhibit C: Ruby Tandoh and general #GBBO excitement. Ruby may not have won (congratulations to Frances Quinn) but Team ELLE was backing her all the way. Ruby makes white chocolate and orange peacock bread in jazzy cardigans and wrote about the misogynistic comments directed at the finalists in The Guardian. Enough said. We love Ruby (nearly as much as cake).
On the 30th we will be inviting people from the fashion world – models, photographers, designers – to bring their baked goods to ELLE HQ’s kitchen for Gizzi to judge. But we want you involved too…
Tweet @ELLEUK with pictures of your creations #ELLEBakeOff.
Gizzi will award the 10 best-looking cakes one of Benefit's All-Star Kits.
Happy baking!
