Was it a festival? Was it a rave? No, it was We Own The Night, the ultimate women’s 10k run in London’s Victoria Park.

On Saturday night, thousands of women joined Team ELLE, Paula Radcliffe (only the fastest women’s marathon runner in history), fashion designer and honorary ELLE man Henry Holland and DJ Gemma Cairney for a night run like no other.

Pre-race, runners could soak up the festival atmosphere, hang out in the ELLE tipi, have their race nails done by Nails Inc. and fuel up for the run from the cool foodie trucks dotted around the park.

As the sun set in East London, we were ready to go.

We joined , Paula Radcliffe and ELLE editor in chief Lorraine Candy on the start line and blazed through the 10k route filled with light and music.

And we’re pleased to report that all of the ELLE team completed 10k in style (some more quickly than others but all in around an hour!)

Paula Radcliffe said, ‘It’s amazing to see such a young and inspiring group of women coming together to celebrate their newfound love of running.

This has been a truly unique six-week training journey and I’m delighted to be here to celebrate with the girls on race day.’

Lorraine Candy, added, ‘Who would have thought that running 10k could be so much fun? Tonight’s run with Paula Radcliffe, Henry Holland and thousands of ELLE readers was another landmark for the ELLE Running Club.

We've gone from 0 to 10k in five months and the best part is, we did it together.’
