Showbiz scions readying for their November 26 debut include Tallulah Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis; and Sarah-Margaret Qualley, daughter of Andie MacDowell, reported WWD.
Also participating in the couture-rich event is Indian Princess Shaiyra Devi of Kapurthala and Carlotte de Bourbon Parme from France. Fashion royalty takes part as well, with Vivian Chou, from the Hong Kong textile family that owns Michael Kors, curtseying in couture.
The Bal de Debutante at the storied French hotel has served as privileged girls’ entree onto the social scene since the tradition was revived in 1991. Debutantes including model Dree Hemingway, Lady Kitty Spencer and model/editor/publishing heiress Amanda Hearst don once-in-a-lifetime couture gowns for their introduction to polite society.
Lauren Bush, who married David Lauren (son of Ralph) in a “black tie with a Western twist” wedding over the past weekend, also made her debut at the Crillon. At her wedding, she wore a custom Ralph Lauren gown designed with help from bridal queen Vera Wang, but for her debut in 2000, she chose a vintage Christian Dior ball gown.
‘Being a debutante at Le Bal Crillon in Paris was beautiful,’ she told The Times in 2008. ‘A family friend encouraged me and it turned out to be the most magical three days.’
