She said of her choice to return to journalism exclusively for ELLE UK, "I stopped doing magazine journalism about eight years ago, as I'd become disillusioned with the need to dumb down.
This was ultimately good because it pushed me to put everything down and throw myself into screenwriting, which is now my full time profession. When I published my memoir I came to understand that my reader is very much the ELLE reader, a place where "women's articles" can be serious, lyrical and inspiring. ELLE would never tell me what to say and it feels good to share space with a writer as talented as Victoria Coren.
