Even models have body worries
Milana Keller has a lot to smile about.
'I’m really trying to be more organised.'
'Of course I have insecurities!'
'I’m unrecognisable without make-up.'
'I’d like to have a little more shape when I’m older.'
'Sometimes I go to sleep with mascara on.'
'Contemporary design is my passion.'
Do you have to be ultra-confident to do your job?
It’s all about how you treat yourself and how you feel about yourself as a woman. Before I had my daughter, I wasn’t ready to do swimwear shoots – I didn’t like my body so much, I didn’t think it looked good. Us women always have doubts about our bodies. Even if you look OK, you still question your appearance. But now I’m totally fine with my body. As I get older, I’m more confident.
Has being a mother given you a different perspective on life?
It totally changes your way of thinking. The most important thing now is my daughter and keeping my family together. As a model, you never know what will happen tomorrow. People love you, they put you on billboards and in magazines… Then suddenly it stops. Worrying about that isn’t my priority now. If someone books me or not, what can I do? If I’m bigger or skinnier – so what? I’m growing up and getting a perspective on what’s really important.
I think people would be surprised you still have body issues and insecurities.
Of course I do. I’m a woman, after all!
