Johnny proposes at last!
We may be disappointed that the wedding of the decade is off now that Kate and Pete have split, but cheery news reaches us from the U.S. today that Kate’s old flame Johnny Depp has finally proposed to long term girlfriend, French singer and former model Vanessa Paradis.
The couple, who have two children, have always preferred to live a private lifestyle out of the paparazzi glare, shunning the Hollywood Hills for Vanessa’s native France. So we’re predicting the wedding, rumoured to be any day soon in their St Tropez hide-away, will be a relatively quiet and modest affair. Earlier this year Depp finally publicly revealed his feelings for the former Chanel model, claiming that when he first spotted her across a room he thought “what’s happening to me? “ (we’re reaching for the hankies now.) They may be one of the A-list's most private couples, but they’re certainly one of the most romantic…bless!

A host of stars flew to Venice yesterday for last night's premier of 'Valentino. The Last Emperor' at the Venice film festival.
The documentary charts the life of Valentino, one of fashion's most iconic designers, through the last two years of his working life from 2005 until 2007 when he retired.
Director Matt Tyrnauer, a correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine, shot over 250 hours of footage of Valentino and his long time business partner and companion Giancarlo Giammetti to craft a film that looks not only at the end of Valentino's career, but his talent as a designer, his relationship with Giametti and the fashion industry as a whole.
Friends and fans a like, including Diane Kruger (pictured), Charlize Theron, Claire Danes, Elizabeth Hurley and Eva Herzagovina joined Valentino and Giametti on the red carpet for the premier last night. Click here now to see what they wore.
