Today I wore: Hobb's Atelier coat, playsuit, shoes Anya Hindmarch clutch

Kid critic: The fearsome foursome were unimpressed by day two's outfit. 'Black, black, black why do you always wear black?' they said.

I spotted a very stylish fashion editor wearing a t-shirt in the front row that I wear in bed today - which is proof if ever it were needed that it isn't what you wear that matters it's the way you wear it. She looked super smart in a minimal way having teamed the t-shirt with a sharp navy suit. That, my friends, is what fashion is about, looking stylish is not an elite club which only a few women are invited to join. Everyone is welcome - October ELLE is full of ideas on this for you.

This is my ninth year at ELLE and therefore my 18th season covering the shows and today I spotted a new trend which I am hoping will have as much staying power as team ELLE - the flat shoe. I counted so many trainers today alongside loafers and mannish sandals. This is about practicality and I hope it heralds a return to the brusque business of covering the shows rather than getting dressed to be photographed covering the shows. It felt as if editors were there to work and not to get caught up in the circus of the the street style photography. Much as we love street style the point of us being here is to provide a service and it is so much easier to do that in a flat shoe believe me!

Another trend I loved was 'bring your mum' to work day! Independent newspaper fashion editor Alex Fury brought the very sleek Mrs. Fury as she took over his column in The Daily newspaper. I like this trend much more than the 'bring your tiny newborn' to work one. That trend worries me.

1. Daisy Lowe, wearing is my date for the runway lunch at L'Wren Scott. We're a few feet from L'Wren's partner Mick Jagger whose lunch date is Anna Wintour. Miss Lowe looks fresh faced and youthful despite a night of fashion week parties. This is not fair.

2. Is it alive? Front row handbag spotted at . I don't know whether to stroke it or fall asleep on it

3. A girl has got to be organised. Fashion week is all about planning in advance. Though the minute I turned round at 7am this morning my offspring made off the Kirkwood spotty heels. I wore the Prada loafers instead.

Sunday's highlights: My quick breakfast in our pink Wendy house with the family before I left at 8am. Designer Emma Hill's last show for was a poignant swan song (hence the paper swans) at Claridge's. Finding a sketch in my show notebook my 11 year old did yesterday. Meeting the handsome waiters at L'Wren Scott. seeing so much white on the spring/summer 2014 catwalks

British Fashion Council chairwoman Natalie Massenet has been wearing London designers every day and I admit I am obsessed by how amazing she looks supporting our talented Londoners. Check out her front row outfits.
