How would you describe your style?
Laid back and quite casual with an edge. Slightly androgynous.
What is there too much of in your wardrobe?
Way too many black trousers. I am slightly obsessed with finding the perfect pair of trousers each season. It can be difficult differentiating between them on a dark morning!
What is the last label you discovered?
Lulu Frost jewellery – it has a really vintage look, but with a contemporary edge, and is beautifully made.
Which are your favourite London stores?
Well Whistles is of course my favourite store, but after that, I love Liberty, the Miu Miu store on Bond street, Nicholas Kirkwood on Mount street, Hub in Stoke Newington, Twenty Twenty One on Upper street for interiors, The Ginger Pig and the Fromagerie in Marylebone for fabulous meats and cheeses, and now I have a puppy, the Pet Shop in Primrose Hill.
Tell us a secret - where do you shop that no-one else knows about?
Albam – it’s a mens store in Islington, but their check shirts are perfect.
What are your go-to labels?
Whistles for everything, especially the new SS12 handbag range, Miu Miu for trousers, shoes and blouses, Isabel Marant, Prada shoes, J Brand for jeans, Marni for beautiful one off pieces, APC for shirts and sweatshirts, Celine in my dreams.
What's the most treasured possession in your wardrobe?
A Roksanda Illincic dress that she made for me as a gift – it’s a beautiful olive green silk midi length dress that drapes around the body and its perfect. I will love it forever.
Do you plan your outfits or throw on whatever's to hand?
A bit of both. I try to plan, but always run out of time and end up making a snap decision when I get out of the shower, especially now that I have a puppy, I have so little time in the mornings. Sometimes at the weekend, I go through my wardrobe to familiarise myself with what’s in there, and try to do a bit of forward planning.
What are you happiest wearing?
Cropped black trousers or skinny jeans, pointy shoes, nude silk top and a jacket of some description, I am so predictable.
What's your sartorial guilty pleasure?
Tartan check flannel pyjamas.
Whose wardrobe would you love to steal?
Alexa Chung’s for all of that Chanel! Although I’m very aware that it would look totally different on me – I have no illusions.
How do you organise your wardrobe?
Not very well, but I try to do it by category, and have one wardrobe for blouses, tops and light knits, another for dresses and coats, another for trousers and jackets, and a forth one for jeans, heavy knitwear, and leather jackets – actually that sounds quite organised doesn’t it.
Where do you look for inspiration if you don't know what to wear?
I check out a few websites or blogs such as Elle online, Garance Dore, and Jak and Jil, I’ll have a look at Net a Porter’s ‘ New In’ section, and look at what my colleagues at Whistles are wearing, as they always look amazing.
Have you ever had a stylist and, if so, what are the best tips they've ever given you?
I’ve never had one, but would love to see what someone else would choose for me, as it might stop me being quite so predictable.
