London jewellery designer Maria Francesca Pepe has earned herself a cult fashion following thanks to her ultra cool and slick pieces - even Lady Gaga is a fan. Currently sponsored byt Topshop's NEWGEN project, she has just launched her online store, mfpepe.com. We tracked her down to talk about her signature style and what really inspires her wardrobe.
How would you describe your style?

What is there too much of in your wardrobe?
Shoes. It’s almost a fetish!
What is the last label you discovered?
I recently bought 3 pairs of Dr. Martens. It’s not a discovery but an obsession.
Which are your favourite London stores?
MFPepe.com (we’re on-line but London based!), Dover Street Market, The Convenience Store, Rellik, (127Brick Lane) and Marks & Spencer.
Tell us a secret - where do you shop that no-one else knows about?
Il Cavaliere di Sengalt, a vintage jewellery and antiques tiny shop in Milan and Evolution, a bones and horns shop in New York City
What are your go-to labels?
Opening Ceremony, Wolford, Tao, vintage Malo cachemire, Ann Demeulemeester, Versus...
What's the most treasured possession in your wardrobe?
Some 80s and 90s Comme Des Garcons and Margielas pieces. And my grandma’s treasures.
Do you plan your outfits or throw on whatever's to hand?
I try to plan but always end up remixing
What are you happiest wearing?
Lots of MFP jewellery and sleek black outfit
What's your sartorial guilty pleasure?
Coats. I have a superb Margiela and a Dries Van Noten I could go naked in.
Whose wardrobe would you love to steal?
Chloe Sevigny.
How do you organise your wardrobe?
By garment type and I have a special drawers for special pieces..
Where do you look for inspiration if you don't know what to wear?
I wash my hair and suddenly I get inspired. Or I watch Beverly Hills 90210 original series.
Have you ever had a stylist and, if so, what are the best tips they've ever given you?
I worked with amazing stylists such as Francesca Burns, Vanessa Coyle, Pandora Lennard and they have been all very inspirational each one in their different peculiar way. The best tip which sums it up whole is ‘feel comfortable and amazing whatever you’re wearing’ and I gave it to myself.
