With a line-up that ranged from funk-rock heavyweights Franz Ferdinand to need-to-know up and comers such as Zulu Winter and Grimes, Field Day was only ever going to be a hipster honeypot.
Despite the rains that threatened to thwart proceedings (and indeed fulfilled the prophecy later that evening) the music fans flocked to East London's Victoria Park and we were there to capture the most festival fresh of them.
Damp field veteran Alexa Chung set the standard in teeny leather shorts (great if you want to sit down on soggy earth) and a trusty go-anywhere parka, but even those who don’t have a million dollar wardrobe to choose from managed to look, well, a million dollars.
Stomping ankle boots and clashing prints, colourful hair and leather bikers, jazzy leggings and super-cool shades: these are the leitmotifs of the British festival 2012, coming soon to a field near you.
