From micro dots to bold graphic spots, polka dots are the new stripes for autumn winter 11 . Already a firm favourite with the A-list, this most playful of prints was given a new lease of life on the catwalks and transferred to elegant eveningwear, accessories and even workwear. But before the dark nights set in and we start to mix and match with clashing prints and metallics a la Marc Jacobs , take your cue from the streets and opt for more subtle prints on tea dresses , skater skirts and vintage blouses. Just ensure the dots are kept ladylike and feminine as the designers intended, with muted colour palettes, denim and minimalistic styling. Wearable right now and so on-trend for next season, it’s high time to show your spots…
