There was only one accessory that revellers were seen with at this weekend’s Secret Garden Party: mud, and plenty of it.

A generous coating of the slick farm clay decorated wellingtons, hotpants and capes - but still it failed to conceal the effervescence underneath. 

Secret Garden Party is traditionally the fancy dress festival, and party-goers go to great lengths to out-wack each other. Feather head dresses, garish all-in-ones and quirky headdresses are de rigeur, as are bold bikinis and novelty sunglasses when it’s time to take a refreshing dip in the lake. 

We love how these ladies tailored the fancy dress code to their own style, observing instead what we like to call ‘fancy dressing’. A little gold make-up here, a flash of glitter there is just what’s needed to look the part. Add the mud, and these girls are picture-perfect.
