If there’s one rule to follow during this decisively chilly winter, it is to wholeheartedly embrace layering – and most definitely pile them high. A less is more mantra may be appropriate at other times of year, but getting from A to B right now requires more than just a hint of practicality, and the most directional dressers are piling on the knits , wool coats and cosy accessories for an eclectic take on staying warm. While neutral tones, burgundy and the on-trend addition of native prints are the palettes and prints of choice, the key to the look is mixing and matching. So take your cue from these stylish ladies, and have fun with layering socks over tights, cardigans over polo necks, and muddling up faux fur with Fair Isle, pom poms and cable knits…
