Rihanna took to the stage of the Wireless Festival in London this weekend, closing three days of rain drenched frivolity.
Umbrellas (ellas-ellas) were at the ready throughout the weekend as monsoon weather lashed Hyde Park creating something of a swamp in front of the main stage. But the 65,000 strong crowd didn’t mind getting down in the mud to cheer the 24 year old Barbadian who commanded the stage at the end of the weekend, running through a number tracks from her recent hit album, Talk That Talk, with the rain halting half way through her set.
Other acts to play over the weekend included self-proclaimed queen of Barbies, Nicki Minaj and Canadian hip hop sensation, Drake. Jessie J took to the stage in the early evening on Sunday, whipping the crowd into a frenzy ahead of Rhianna’s closing spot, and singing through bursts of sunlight as she lit up the festival.
