Our wedding day has come and gone and I could harp on for days about how magical and perfect it was. But really, you only want to know about the dress. So without further ado...

I married in a Phillipa Lepley couture gown which I co-created with the atelier. To give it its formal description, it’s a Princess line gown in lightweight Duchess satin with a tulle overlay hand-embellished with lace motifs and beading. I added a silk sash around my waist tied with a bow at the back and wore a lace beaded shrug for our church ceremony.

Creating the dress took nine fittings over five months; two toile, various ummings over the neckline and skirt fullness and then artfully scattering the laces for maximum impact. Well, Sally artfully scattered and Julie fitted while I stood still trying to ignore the pain my wedding shoes were giving me. I loved every second.

It was the most wonderful thing I’ve ever worn. Most thrilling of all, Phillipa Lepley are putting the dress in to production next year and calling it the Venice Carrie no less! Adding “/Bridal Designer” to my business cards with immediate effect...
