Brides are increasingly opting for children rather than a troupe of friends. Ive done the same and chosen my niece and two nephews, led by my sister the mother of two of them as matron of honour to follow me up the aisle.
My sister can wear what she likes and the children will wear what we put them in. Easy. Nobody wins in a group of 30-somethings wearing identical outfits, let them run free.

I found my flower girl and page boy outfits at Little Bevan. Looking for girls outfits is a joy, theres so much around. Finding boys outfits is trickier: I have a problem with little boys in little suits yet unfortunately this is the main option in the high streets occasion wear category. Youll have more luck for summer weddings when boys can be boys in shorts and socks or little Ralph Lauren-esque preppy gear. But in winter, stick to wedding professionals Little Bevan, Nikki Macfarlane or, if you have any military background at all, those wonderfully grand royal wedding page boy outfits.

Kate Moss chose Bonpoint for her flower girls which were made bespoke. But there has been such a huge demand for the dresses that Bonpoint is producing a limited edition run of them in the Knightsbridge store from August. Price tbc but its Bonpoint, home of the £160 cardigan, so go figure.
Catherine and William chose Nikki Macfarlane for the girls who, as well as made to measure, also has a diffusion collection for John Lewis. Not a patch on the real deal but a welcome cost cutter.
