Stylish Save-the-Dates that won't Break the Bank

The Save the Date invites you send for your wedding should set the tone of the day – it’s the first taste your guests will get of what you have in store for them, so it’s important to get it right. On the other hand, weddings are an expensive enough business without having to fork out the money for expensive stationery before you’ve even had a chance to consider all the other things.

The solution? Paperless Post. It’s a chic little website that offers a multitude of gorgeous designs that can be emailed to your guests. From traditional calligraphy to exuberant parrot illustrations and upload-your-own-photo designs, there’s an e-card to suit almost every taste. Many of the invites on offer are completely free, or you can select the fancier ones for which you pay a nominal fee.

We went for a fun, Hipstamatic-style invite, with a faded Polaroid shot of the two of us on the front, and details on the date and venue inside. Guests then have the option to reply with their address or a little note, and I’ve been pressing refresh on the page 5 times a day, enjoying watching the replies flood in. Most impressive of all? It’s so easy even my grandparents’ generation have been able to reply.
