The Hemingway Bar - Ritz

I love that it is so small and you feel like you are hanging out in someone’s living room...

Address: 15, Place Vendome, 75001, Paris; Ritzparis.com.

La Derriere

Owned by the legendary Mourad (he of London’s Momo and Sketch fame), Derriere is a warren of rooms in a real apartment – complete with clothes in the wardrobe. It dishes up delicious Moorish food and has plenty of hidden spaces, like a room where you can (legally) smoke.

Address: 69, rue des Gravilliers, 75003, Paris; Derriere-resto.com.

Vesna

Vesna nail bar in the Marais do great customised nails in every shade you can think of. It’s one of the few nail bars in Paris, and is well worth a visit.

Address: 58 rue de Turenne, 75003, Paris; Vesna.fr.

Hotel du Nord

One of my favourite hangouts in Paris is Hotel Du Nord overlooking the Canal Saint Martin. The bar/restaurant shares its name with the 1938 film which was shot there. The food, atmosphere and cocktails are amazing. Think 1930s speakeasy style with a black and white checkerboard floor, mahogany furniture and green lampshades, but full of modern-day chic Parisians. After dinner you can dance to jazz and swing around your tables.

Address:102 Quai de Jemmapes, 75010 Paris; Hoteldunord.org.

Kinugawa

Kinugawa is the Japanese restaurant opposite the hotel where the ELLE girls stay for Paris Fashion Week, and is practically an extension of the shows with wall-to-wall fashion people lapping up the (cold) saki and blackened cod. It's not particularly beautiful to look at (blink and you'd miss it, in fact) but that's why the fashion crowd love it - a low-key discovery that serves delicious (low-cal) food.

Address: 9, rue du Mont Thabor, 75001, Paris; Kinugawa.fr.

Merci

It’s a beautiful concept store with a fantastic vintage section and wall-to-wall labels.

Address: 111 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003, Paris; Merci-merci.com.

Chez Janou

For great food it’s got to be Chez Janou, which I went to with Erdem.

Address: 2 Rue Roger Verlomme, 75003, Paris; Chezjanou.com.

And here are a few things team ELLE can’t leave Paris without...

Donna Wallace - Accessories Editor

Even if I have no time to fashion shop I'll squeeze in a pharmacy dash. Although most French pharmacies are good, the one at the end of the Marais is a big one and cheaper than some of the main ones. The one item I always buy at a French pharmacy is Bioderma's Crealine TS H20 Solution Micellaire, they don’t stock it in the UK. I love the treat of going abroad or someone bringing something back you can't find so easily or at all back home. That's so rare these days.

A little wander round the streets of Le Marais. It’s so pretty and I love popping into concept stores Merci and Collette (213 rue St Honore, 75001, Paris; Colette.fr) to see what the latest installations are.

I can’t leave Paris without visiting a French pharmacy, they have all those coveted products you can find in the UK. I love the Maille mustard shop on Place de Madeline (6 Place de la Madeleine, 75008, Paris; Maille.com). I also always make a visit to the secret Alaia sale shop (18, rue de la Verrerie, Paris).

Alice Watt - Fashion Assistant

I never leave Paris without popping into the wonderful world of Colette. It’s a treasure trove of high fashion, and everything else you never need but always want. And then of course no trip to Paris would be complete without a pit-stop at Chanel (31 Rue Cambon, 75001, Paris) and Isabel Marant (16 Rue de Charonne, Paris or 47 Rue de Saintonge, Paris; Isabelmarant.tm.fr Paris). Pure bliss...
