Paradise by way of Kensal Green's Cemetery Outing

It doesn’t get much creepier than spending the evening in a cemetery, and certainly nowhere more so than at one of London’s oldest burial grounds. Come Halloween, Kensal Green cemetery are offering the rare opportunity of a night-time tour, and if you dare, a chance to explore the dark depths of its 19th-century catacomb. Once you’re suitably freaked out, you can head next door to the brilliant Paradise by way of Kensal Green for a Halloween-inspired dinner and a free Halloween cocktail.

Halloween at the Science Museum

If you’re looking for a night at the museum, then this is certainly it. On the last Wednesday of every month, the Science Museum open their doors for their brilliant late night specials, this month happens to fall on Halloween and it’s been themed the Science of Alcohol. There’ll be Sake tasting, beer brewing and some serious facts on gin. Alcohol aside, we’ll be heading to the Exploring Space room, to party at the silent disco, trying our luck at the pub quiz or plucking up the courage to try the speed dating (although, you’ll need to book for this one). Best of all the night is completely free. We can’t wait.

Halloween at the Old Vic Tunnels

If you’ve already checked out Bedlam (the latest art event at the Old Vic Tunnels) and loved it, then make sure you head back for their Day of the Dead party. Wahaca will be taking over the place for a four-day fiesta to celebrate the Mexican tradition in style. There’ll be music from Wilderness Festival headliner Rodrigo y Gabriela, installations by London based Le Gun collective and screenings by the Cabinet of Living Cinema. You can dance til the wee small hours with the Communion DJs and of course, refuel with plenty of helpings from the pop-up Wahaca street kitchen.

Halloween 'Screamings' at the Round Chapel, Hackney

If you’ve felt a bit lost since the Rooftop Film Club outdoor cinema screenings closed for the winter, don’t worry, its creators are back with a brand new experience. On Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October, they’ll be holding Halloween horror screenings of Shaun of the Dead, The Lost Boys, Ghostbusters and the brilliant E.T all in the spooky surroundings of the Round Chapel church in Hackney. Oh, and did we mention fancy dress is positively encouraged…

Halloween Masquerade at the Lucky Pig

Fitzrovia’s favourite cocktail bar will be dimming the lights come Wednesday 31st October for its annual Halloween masquerade ball. And, really there’s no better place to be on the spookiest night of the year, as to get to it you’ll descend a dark staircase into the basement, which has interiors filled with rickety old pianos, battered Chesterfield sofas and scratched walls. They’ll be shaking up some damn good cocktails and Doctor Death will be lurking around, giving out shots of ‘blood’. Guests are challenged to come in the most morbid costumes they can muster, and the more elaborate your masquerade mask the better.
