Fernandez and Wells, WC2... for the Somerset House shows

If you’ve got Fashion Week tickets, you don’t even need to leave the Somerset House quad to find a great place to eat. Fernandez and Wells is a Spanish cafe and restaurant which spans three light-filled rooms inside Somerset House’s East Wing. Order wafer-thin slices of nutty Iberico ham, carved in the ‘ham room’, or organic eggs fried in olive oil with sourdough. Or just sip a potent flat white and watch the LFW whirl from a seat overlooking the courtyard.

The Table, SE1... for TopShop show space

The Table is a chic, Aussie-run restaurant designed by the architects who work upstairs. It’s also just three minutes walk (five in very high heels) from Tate Modern, which is hosting the TopShop show space and the Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll and Louise Gray shows. Head chef Cinzia Ghighoni’s menu is modern Italian, offering small plates like wilted radicchio with toasted walnuts and creamy gorgonzola. For something more filling, order The Table’s much-loved char-grilled bacon sarnie and grab a spot at one of the communal oak tables.

Mishkins, WC2... for Somerset House

Can’t get into Fernandez and Wells? Cross over the Strand and duck into Mishkin’s. It’s a cross between a traditional New York-style deli and a hip, Lower-East-Side cocktail bar, and owned by leading restaurateur Russell Norman, of Polpo. The Reuben sandwich, stuffed with slivers of rich pastrami, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, is a must-order, washed down with a Cucumber Martini.

Caravan, EC1 for... The Vintage Collections

Heading to Clerkenwell for the Vintage Collections? You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to stylish restaurants and cool cafes, but our pick is Caravan on Exmouth Market. The minimal room, with its white walls and wooden tables, is always packed and a fashion-crowd favourite. Graze on colourful and zesty plates with global influences – falafel with apple and pepper relish, tomato and chilli soup with cucumber yogurt and avocado on toast, spiked with chilli.

Hawskmoor Spitalfields Bar, E1... for the LFW Closing Party

Hawksmoor’s bar is one of London's best-looking, with its black and copper ceilings, intimate, turquoise-tiled booths and window-less air of decadence. It’s near the LFW Closing Party at Village Underground, so it’s the perfect place to kick back with a Marmalade cocktail after a long week at the shows. If you fancy a carb-fest, try the mouth-puckering Kimchi burger or the LA-style French dip sandwich – braised short ribs in a sweet bun topped with Ogleshield cheese, which you dip into bone-marrow gravy.
