After I finish up for the day on a Friday, I am usually desperate for a cocktail, so I tend to stay near the office. Luckily, I work in Fitzrovia, which is a really cool part of London at the moment with lots of exciting new openings. If it’s warm, then I’ll grab a table and some nibbles at Elyssee, (13 Percy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 1DP, Enq: 020 7636 4804, elyseerestaurant.com) a well kept secret with a fantastic roof terrace, on Percy Street, or head to Salt Yard (54 Goodge Street, London, W1T 4NA, Enq: 020 7637 0657, saltyard.co.uk) for some beautiful Spanish wine and Jamon Iberico. Then I’ll probably head to Dabbous on Whitfield Street. It’s impossible to get a table there, but you can nip downstairs for a drink without booking, and still feel like you’re important!

After that I’ll either head to Rev JW Simpson (above) on Goodge Street, (32 Goodge Street, London, W1T 2QJ, Enq: 020 3174 1155, revjwsimpson.com) for a heady Mead Feast cocktail, or end up at The American Bar in the Savoy for a heavenly Violet and Rose martini. (The Savoy, Strand, London, WC2R 0EU, Enq: 020 7836 4343, fairmont.com/savoy-london)

On Saturday, after chilling out a bit at home, I’ll probably make my way to East London. If it’s a nice day, I’ll soak up the rays at Dalston Roof Park (18 Ashwin Street, London, E8 3DL, Enq: 020 7275 0825, bootstrapcompany.co.uk), visit some friends, or take a meander along one of the markets.

When it's time for dinner, I'll head down to the new Blanch and Shock pop up (above) at the super cool Kitchen Party in Clerkenwell. (42 Northampton Road, London, EC1R 0HU, Enq: 0203 174 1156, kitchenpartypopup.com) I absolutely love these guys – their innovative food design is totally inspiring and delicious!

After dinner I will stay at Kitchen Party for a drink at their wandering cocktail bar before heading back into Hackney. If I don’t go to Kitchen Party then I might book myself a table at the latest Mussel Men pop up at Brew For Two. (101 Morning Lane, Hackney, London, E9, Enq: 0208 986 2286, musselmen.com) Fellow Scots, the Mussel Men specialise in fresh seafood from Shetland, simply served and accompanied by Prosecco. The next stop will be the Ric Rac Club party at The Blacksmith and Toffeemaker where I will join the lovely ladies at The Vintage Mafia, and dance around to some tunes played by Auntie Maureen! (Enq:thevintagemafia.com) If I’m still awake at 2am, I’ll head to the Nest in Dalston, a sure-fire bet for great DJs and a party vibe (36 Stoke Newington Road, London, N16 7XJ, Enq: 020 7354 9993, ilovethenest.com)

Sunday is all about staying close to home in Putney. My favourite way to spend Sunday afternoon is a long walk from Putney to Twickenham via Richmond along the river, and then into to The White Swan for a roast. (Riverside, Twickenham, TW1 3DN, Enq: 020 8744 2951, whiteswantwickenham.co.uk) I cannot recommend this pub enough. Perched right on the Thames and surrounded by boats, ducks and weeping willows, it is my favourite place in London when the sun is shining!
