Friday

A bartender’s weekend is a little different to most. I spend Friday and Saturday bartending at The Cocktail Trading Co, above (22 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7HU, 0207 427 6097, thecocktailtradingco.co.uk) our new bar on Great Marlborough St, but when the shift finishes at 1am, the weekend starts. We head down to El Camion (25-27 Brewer St, London, W1F 0RR, 020 7734 7711, elcamion.co.uk/soho) in Soho, for jugs of margaritas and to cut some shapes until it closes at 3am.

Saturday

On the rare occasion I might have Saturday off, I'll browse Atomica Gallery (7 Green's Court, London W1F, 0HQ, atomicagallery.com), who have a great selection of unusual contemporary art and illustrations and Sister Ray Records (Berwick Street Market, 75 Berwick Street, Soho, London W1F 8TG, 020 7734 3297, sisterray.co.uk) to buy some new records. Foxcroft & Ginger, above (3 Berwick Street, Soho London W1F 0DR, foxcroftandginger.co.uk) is one of my top places for a coffee and little bite to eat and Gerry's Wines & Spirits (74 Old Compton Street, London W1D 4UW, 020 7734 2053, gerrys.uk.com) is the best place in the world to restock your drinks cabinet. To do the same with cheese, you can't beat Neal's Yard (7 Shorts Gardens, London WC2H 9AT, 020 7240 5700, nealsyarddairy.co.uk), and at Barret's Butchers (40 England's Lane, London NW3 4UE, 020 7722 1131, barrettsbutchers.co.uk), you can pick up some of the best cuts of meat you’ll ever find. If I'm feeling indulgent, I'll go to Crew Barber (911 Fulham Road, London, 020 3010 1096, crewexperience.com) for a good old-fashioned wet shave and trim.

Sunday

After a late night, I wake up around 12 and head over to Hawksmoor (11 Langley Street, London WC2H 9JG, 020 7420 9390, thehawksmoor.com), for the best Sunday Roast in town and bottomless Bloody Marys. From there we head over to Cafe Pacifico (5 Langley Street, London WC2H 9JA, 020 7379 7728, cafe-pacifico.com) for quality tequila, salsa and ice-cold beer. We'll chill out there before jumping in a cab to Happiness Forgets, above (8-9 Hoxton Square, London N1 6NU, 020 7613 0325, happinessforgets.com) for Sazaracs and Manhattans. We'll prop up the bar there for a few hours before heading to Road House (The Market At Covent Garden, Covent Garden Market, 35 The Piazza, London WC2E 8BE, 020 7240 6001, roadhouse.co.uk) to watch whatever is left of the flair competition,  then Uber (uber.com) it home and get some much-needed sleep.

Andy Mil is co-founder of The Cocktail Trading Company (The Basement, 22 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7HU, 0207 427 6097, thecocktailtradingco.co.uk), a brand new bar offering innovative and expertly made cocktails in a fun, laid-back environment. One of the most highly-awarded bartenders in the UK, after winning ‘Best Bartender in the UK’ at just 22, Andy went on to be ranked in the top 8 of the world’s best cocktail bartenders in Diageo's World Class competition and was voted the Imbibe Bar Personality of the Year for Achievements Under 30.
