Friday evening

We've been fortunate enough to have 40 people from Ritz Carltons all over the world helping to train all our staff at the London EDITION, so tonight we're throwing a party for them, along with our managers, at Paramount, 101-103 New Oxford St, London, WC1A 1DD, 020 7420 2900, paramount.uk.net, at the top of Centrepoint. You can't beat that view, and if you've come from as far away as Bahrain, Miami or even Vienna, you'll want to see it!

Saturday

Will be (mostly) a day off, the first in two weeks, so whatever the weather I'll be outside. I've been living and working at the hotel, and beautiful though it is, I need some fresh air...a run around London Fields most likely, then followed by the best bacon and avocado on toast at Wilton Way Cafe in Dalston, 63 Wilton Way London E8 1BG, londonfieldsradio.co.uk,
020 7249 0444, owned by my good friend Dom Prosser.

I have to get something to wear for the opening of The London EDITION next week, so a trip to Richard James, 29 Savile Row London, W1S 2EY, 020 7434 0605, richardjames.co.uk to treat myself to a new whistle...

Saturday afternoon/early evening will be spent with Seb Chew, the music maverick behind the legendary club night YoYo, at Notting Hill Arts Club, Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3JQ nottinghillartsclub.com, who is working with us at the London EDITION on the music and entertainment programming… always tons of lolz and Seb's a wealth of knowledge so will no doubt learn a thing or two!

Saturday Night

An casual, easy Saturday night: dinner at great new Soho restaurant bar Coal Vaults, 187b Wardour Street, Soho; London, W1F 8ZB; 020 7434 1550, coalvaults.com, small plates with matching cocktails.. the owners are brilliant, and it's becoming an extension of my non-existent living room. When I get back to the hotel I’ll see the Mat Collishaw’s floating 3D diamond we commissioned with s(edition) which you can see from the street until Tuesday.

Sunday

Up early-ish to work on the music programming in the London EDITION restaurant and lobby, I’m thinking soundtracks, throwbacks, vintage reggae, soul, French jazz.. trust me.. it will sound great in the spaces! It takes a lot of time and a lot of careful listening, so best to do it when there are very few staff in the hotel.

Sunday evening

I’ll be heading to Ladbroke Grove to see my besties Mark and Martha Whelan who have just had a baby girl, for some family time. Nothing better than that before what I know will be a crazy couple of weeks of hotel opening and London Fashion Week.

Ben Pundole is the VP of Brand Experience with EDITION hotels; the London Edition opens September 12.
