After closing the store we like to stop by Elliot's Café, (12 Stoney St, Borough Market, SE1 9AD, 020 7403 7436, elliotscafe.com), next to Borough market. The owner, Brett Redman, has just gone into partnership with us on a café in our new flagship store on Curtain Road. The food is bonkers good and all the ingredients are sourced locally from the market, so there’s always something new to try.

On a Saturday morning we usually head over to The Pavilion Café (Corner Old Ford Road, Victoria Park, London, E9 7DE, London E9 7DE, 020 8980 0030 the-pavilion-cafe.com) at Victoria Park for brunch. It’s the best cafe food in London, plus it's in the middle of an amazing park, right on a boating lake.

After brunch and a walk around the park, we’ll check out a few galleries and record stores. One of our favourite places for illustration and design is Beach Gallery (20 Cheshire St, London E2 6EH, 020 7033 4111, beachlondon.co.uk). They have a nice selection of artists and friendly atmosphere; we just always like what they’re doing. They also have a good collection of books and zines for sale.

We also like to browse at Kristina Records (44 Stoke Newington Rd, London N16 7XJ, 020 7254 2130, kristinarecords.com), who have a great mixture of new and used Vinyl. They carry music from most genres and we usually find something interesting to listen to.

In the evening we’ll start to think about going out for some food and a couple of drinks. When we venture into central London we try to fit in The London Edition (10 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NP, 020 7781 0000, edition-hotels.marriott.com). We know the guys there so we always get looked after. It’s a fun place for a cocktail or dinner. They also have a secret downstairs space called Basement where our friend Seb Chew programmes late night parties every week.  

If we don’t feel like going into town, we’ll go somewhere like Frank's Café (95A Rye Lane, London SE15 4ST frankscafe.org.uk), which is on the rooftop of a multi-story car park in Peckham. Mainly because London is hot and they serve cold drinks, on a roof. They’re known for their Negronis and casual sharing platters.

E5 Bakehouse (Arch 395, Mentmore Terrace, London E8 3PH, 020 8525 2890, e5bakehouse.com) is the best place to get posh carbs. They bake all their own bread daily so you can either buy a fresh baguette or sit in their café for a leisurely breakfast. On Sundays they also sell sourdough pizzas, which use dough fermented overnight and cooked by their Italian chef Marcella. 

When it’s hot in London, we’ll go to London Fields Lido  (London Fields West Side, London E8 3EU, 020 7254 9038, better.org.uk) for a swim. It was built in 1932 and is London’s largest heated outdoor pool.

For lunch we love Crate Brewery (Queens Yard, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5EN, 07834 275 687, cratebrewery.com). They serve great pizza and it’s an ace place to get into organic beers. It’s set in a vast warehouse space, where they also brew their own label beer, and their outdoor seating area is canal-side.

Alternatively we love The Royal Oak (73 Columbia Road, London E2 7RG, 020 7729 2220, royaloaklondon.com). It's the best pub in London. It’s also 10 metres from our house, which is essential when you have a three year old. 

We’ll sometimes round out the weekend by seeing what’s showing at The Aubin Cinema (64-66 Redchurch Street Shoreditch London E2 7DP, 0845 604 8486, aubincinema.com). We used to A LOT more but due to the aforementioned 3 year old, we don't get there as often now.
