As they gear up for the launch of their third hotel, Artist Residence London, and its restaurant 64 Degrees, Justin Salisbury & Charlotte Newey take some time out.

'We run three boutique hotels in London, Brighton and Cornwall and try to split our time equally between them. Our life revolves around the hotels so it is very rare to have a whole weekend off. Free time is always spent on the look out for unique furniture, decor and salvage for the hotels. When we have a free weekend in London it goes something like this.'

Friday

A short walk from the hotel is The Orange (37-39 Pimlico Rd, SW1W 8NE, 020 7881 9844, theorange.co.uk) which is great for a few drinks after a busy week. Two doors down is Hunan (51 Pimlico Rd, SW1W 8NE, 020 7730 5712, hunanlondon.com),  which we love for the old school style of service, and the amazing Chinese food which is brought out on the chef’s whim, rather than ordered from the menu. Afterwards we’ll  usually head to one of our favourite places for cocktails, The Zetter Townhouse (49-50 St John's Square, EC1V 4JJ, 020 7324 4550, thezettertownhouse.com).

Saturday

We try to squeeze in as much as possible on Saturdays by checking out our favourite London shops. Will Hanness runs The Old Cinema in Chiswick (160 Chiswick High Rd, London W4 1PR, 020 8995 4166, theoldcinema.co.uk),  which has some incredible stalls; try Innes Cole (inescole.com), Objectify (objectify.co.uk) and Antiques by Design (antiquesbydesign.co.uk) for vintage-industrial furniture and lighting. Marcus, over at The French House in Parsons Green (41-43 Parsons Green Ln, London SW6 4HH, 020 7371 7573, thefrenchhouse.co.uk),  has some really special, one-off French finds, while Christopher Howe (93 Pimlico Road London SW1W 8PH, 020 7730 7987, howelondon.com), has impeccable taste in antiques and vintage fabrics.

We’re always looking for new places to eat and drink for inspiration for our hotels, especially ones with unique concepts. Our favourites are Pitt Cue (1 Newburgh St, London W1F 7RB, pittcue.co.uk) for their pulled pork bun,  and Bone Daddies (Bone Daddies Ramen Bar, 31 Peter St, London W1F 0AR, 020 7287 8581, bonedaddiesramen.com) for London’s best Tonkotsu Ramen. We love Florence Knight’s Polpetto (11 Berwick St, London W1F 0PL, 020 7439 8627, polpetto.co.uk) - the beef shin strozzapreti was delicious.

Sunday

The queues for brunch at Granger and Co (175 Westbourne Grove, London W11 2SB, 0207 229 9111, grangerandco.com) can sometimes be huge, but it's well worth the wait. Heading to East London on a Sunday is always good fun. We love browsing the Columbia Road flower market and buying prints from Nelly Duff gallery (156 Columbia Rd, London E2 7RG, 020 7033 9683, nellyduff.com), which always has some amazing one-off editions by Pure Evil, Jessica Alban & Dan Hillier. To go East and not go to Shoreditch would be silly. In fact, Ace Hotel (100 Shoreditch High Street London E1 6JQ, 020 7613 9800, acehotel.com) has been one of our major inspirations from day one, so we always stop by to see what's happening.

Hoteliers Charlotte Newey and Justin Salisbury are co-founders of new hotel, Artist Residence, London, which opens on September 8th on Cambridge Street, Pimlico. The pair also run sister hotels Artist Residence, Brighton and Artist Residence, Penzance
