A rustic hideaway surrounded by olive trees in the hills of Cala Llonga, Candomo is the perfect place for those who want to get away from it all. A former 17th-century farm, the agriturismo is run by the lovely Alexandra, who brings her personal touch to everything from the room decoration to the breakfasts.
The traditional Ibicenco architecture is enhanced by antique French furniture and contemporary touches and no two of the nine rooms are the same; from the Tierra Suite which is housed in a former stable to the Domo - after which the hotel is named - there's something quirky and unique about each one. With whitewashed walls and neutral tones, they all have cool flagstone floors and original beamed ceilings and wrought-iron or wooden beds. Bathrooms are spacious and feature mosaic tiled baths, exposed stone walls and wet-room style showers.
The food served in Candomo is simple and focuses on excellent ingredients. Think beautifully fresh coffee at breakfast, great wine at lunch, and only the best breads and cheeses. Alexandra is a great cook and although there's no menu, you just have to tell her what you fancy and she’ll rustle up something delicious based on that. It’s all served up with the backdrop of the lush and bountiful flora that cascades over every inch of the whitewashed walls making for a very photogenic and relaxing spot to while away an afternoon under the beating Ibizan sun.
What’s hot?
- Home-cooked food made with fresh ingredients from the local Italian deli – even fresh burrata can be available if you ask for it
- Candomo offers total seclusion – you don’t hear a single beat of music from the clubs as long as you’re here
- The Domo room – it comes complete with outdoor bathroom and private chilling area
Whats not?
- This is not a place for mod cons so don’t expect flat screen TVs, iPod docks and passionfruit caipririnhas
