Set deep in the midst of a pine forest a long way from the chaos of San Antonio, the Hotel Hacienda Na Xamena is the perfect place from which to experience another side of the party island. From its remote cliff top setting, to the Buddha statues and meditation-style music, everything about this hotel has been designed to lull you into a state of spoiled indolence and utter relaxation.
Exotic trees and mesmerizing seascape views surround the open swimming pool area, while the Thalassotherapy Saltwater Spas – think heated private pools and waterfalls with Jacuzzi-style jets – are pretty seriously indulgent. The bar and main restaurant area are Mediterranean in style, but with a Moorish twist, with whitewashed walls, mosaic tiles, floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary, ocean-inspired artworks. The delicious fish dishes and locally sourced wine selection dovetail beautifully with the surroundings; served against a backdrop of the sun setting over the bay, it’s a special dining experience.
Then it’s on to the various suites… Carved out of the cliffs, many come with a Jacuzzi, spectacular sea (and sunset) views, small terrace, large sofas, lounge area, king-size beds and a well-stocked minibar. Hotel Hacienda Na Xamena is rural Ibiza at its very best – you’ll never want to leave.
