Instagram for Android
Finally, non-iPhone users can rejoice at the introduction of Instagram for Android. The phenomenon of the Instagram app (which has racked up over 15 million users since its launch) clearly shows no signs of letting up. Wed count its success on being down to the fact that it makes everyone (even the most amateur of photographers amongst us) look like pros. You can take an everyday photo, put a filter on it and, hey presto, you have a gorgeous vintage-style shot. Plus, you can upload straight to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest or have your own Instagram photo stream that you can share with friends. Did we mention its free?

British Airways App
The latest update on the British Airways app only came out very recently and is already set to be one of the best travel apps out there - not least because the new app is set to ensure all flight prices are received in the low price finder. You can also get the latest travel updates on your flights and even book your next journey on the app while youre away, to spare any post-holiday blues. If they havent quite found a way of helping with the last-minute, 'wheres my passport' panic yet, receiving your boarding pass on your phone at least frees up a few precious moments...

When we heard there was another cult social network to add to our ever-growing collection we weren't immediately convinced. But then we tried Pinterest - the virtual pinboard that lets you add photos of beautiful objects, and things you find inspirational - and the rest is history. Best of all it comes in app form, as who knows when youll be hit with inspiration? The latest update on the app was created a couple of weeks ago and has optimized performance for the iPhone 3G and 3GS meaning sharing your photos is super-speedy and you can pin until your hearts content. Excitingly, you can also download Pinterest HD, which means you can turn your Pinterest stream into a flipboard-style magazine.

HD Movies for iPad
Part of the excitement of long-haul flying is all the great films you get to watch while youre in the air. (Although, in our experience the excitement is often short-lived, when small people are kicking your chair, the tinny headphones dont work and, well, we could go on...) Anyway, thats where all you lucky iPad users get one up with the new HD movies. They have crystal clear sound and pictures and, as of March 19th, films have just joined music, TV shows and books in iCloud meaning your choices of films just got substantially bigger. Now theres also the updated addition of iMovie for iPad app meaning you can even create your own film once youve reached your destination.

Photosynth
Another one for budding photographers is the brilliant Photosynth. Once youve downloaded the app you can shoot your photo with the interactive capture (or shoot in all directions with the full-sphere panoramas) and watch as the advanced image stitching engine stitches together all your shots to create a beautiful panorama with absolutely no Photoshop needed. Impressive stuff. You can also share your panoramas with people around the world and map where they were taken. Plus, the latest addition to the feature means you can share your newly created panoramas on Twitter.
