Gigi Hadid has served up another spring-ready bob hairstyle, a complete 180 turn from her signature cool girl style. Miu Miu's latest campaign sees the 28-year-old supermodel adopt a sleek vintage 'do that we're coining the 'new 60s bob'. A total departure from the off duty model attire we expect from the Hadid sisters, the playful new style is delicate and feminine but not without the sophisticated high fashion notes we'd expect from a new season campaign. Hadid braved the chop last month, alongside actor Elle Fanning, sidelining her go-to long hair in favour of a chin-grazing new do. While her softly angular yet blunt Italian bob is incredibly trendy for spring, the bob haircut itself is an evergreen trend that's seen various interpretations in the past few years, from EmRata's vintage-inspired dark flapper bob and Emma Watson's textured chop to the jazzy 'party bob'.

We've seen Gigi with a bob before, in campaigns and throughout her many fashion months. Her last Miu Miu campaign saw the model take on the bob trend in an insouciant schoolgirl kind of way. The mum of one's hairstyle in the campaign perfectly juxtaposes the preppy knits and micro mini, and according to the photographer Steven Meisel, the look was inspired by American artist Margaret Keane who's known for her expressive paintings of large-eyed waifs.

In terms of real world cuts, this daring new trim is the shortest her natural hair has been cut since the American Music Awards in 2015.
