Fashion Week is always a moment for me to get into character. I like to flesh out looks that feel distinctively like me, but with an element of exaggeration. For example, one day last season I was heavily fixated on the idea of modern Regency-inspired dressing, so incorporated bloomers with a fitted blazer. In anticipation of the Kiko Kostadinov womenswear show, I felt it important to show my support for Laura and Deanna Fanning – the young designers at the helm – by wearing statement pieces from their last collection: a halter-neck top with a glitter finish and statement boots.
Suffice to say, I relish dressing up for Fashion Week and slipping in a fun accessory. This season, I decided to make hero glasses the focal point of my looks, choosing styles from Specsavers, which embody my style. Read on to see my five London Fashion Week ensembles.
Day 1
With sunny rays taking over the capital, it felt fitting to don an outfit that exuded that same warm whimsicality. I opted for a rust star hoodie and crochet bonnet (a trending piece now) with a pair of dark-wash jeans for balance. A pair of Vivienne Westwood tortoiseshell glasses fitted in perfectly, and Wales Bonner Jewel trainers felt like the ideal footwear for a dose of chic.
Day 2
As mentioned, young designers are integral to my Fashion Week experience, and I’m a fervent supporter of emerging talent – hence this get-up. Pale-pink Liberty glasses worked in tandem with this Paolina Russo top (as seen on Doja Cat), layered over a brown dress and brown and navy ribbon boots. These gorgeous pink frames helped me lean into the playfulness of the outfit for maximum impact.
Day 3
This was a slight ode to the Nineties with a nylon skirt that, to me, is reminiscent of classic-era Prada. Pink and red will always be a combination I’ll vouch for, and so I paired a cropped printed T-shirt with red Miu Miu flats (again, my penchant for the carmine trend trickled through) with a biker. Simple geometric black sunglasses allowed the shoes to take centre stage.
Day 4
It’s undeniable that anything red hot has been ubiquitous on catwalks over the past few months. Pairing a fiery merino top with a relaxed trench coat and bottoms felt like the most authentic way of slipping in a pop of colour while flitting from show to show. Sparkling rhinestone-embellished Alaïa flats added the right amount of shine and tied in effortlessly with these Marc Jacobs black and gold wire-rimmed glasses.
Day 5
Executive-chic was on the mood board for the final day of London Fashion Week. Coupling a form-fitting jacket with pedal pushers – a nostalgic throwback – and kitten heels is what I’d imagine I’d throw on if I was guest-starring in an episode of Succession (RIP). These forest-green angular specs complemented my boardroom outfit beautifully.
