Brad Pitt delivered yet another award-winning speech following his win for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ at the Oscars.

On Sunday evening, Oscar winner Regina King announced that the 56-year-old had won the first award of the night, beating the likes of Tom Hanks and Al Pacino to the accolade.

Hearing his name read aloud, Pitt got up from his seat and immediately hugged his Once Upon A Time In…Hollywood co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, who was sat alongside his girlfriend Camilla Morrone.

Fighting back tears during his speech, the actor told the ceremony's attendees: ‘Look for the best in people, expect the worst but look for the best.

Pitt concluded his speech by telling the audience: ‘I’m a bit gobsmacked. I’m not one to look back but this has made me do so. I think of my folks taking me to the drive-in to see Butch [Cassidy] and the Sundance [Kid], loading up my car and moving out here… once upon a time in Hollywood – ain’t that the truth.

Pitt’s speech comes a week after he made a joke about naming his BAFTA award – which he won ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for Once Upon A Time In…Hollywood – Harry following the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be splitting their time between North America and the UK.

'Hey Britain – I heard you just became single, welcome to the club,' actress Margot Robbie read from Pitt's note as he was unable to attend the ceremony.

'Brad's going to name this award 'Harry' because he's really excited about bringing it back to the States with him,’ she added, as Prince William and Kate Middleton were caught on camera laughing at the joke.

Last month, Pitt joked about his love for DiCaprio following their staring roles in Quentin Tarantino’s film.

'I would have shared the raft with you,' the Oscar winner quipped about his friend – who he recently revealed he calls ‘LDC’ – , referring to the ending of Titanic where DiCaprio's character Jack Dawson freezes in the icy water.

At the end of his speech, Pitt added: 'I wanted to bring my mom, but any woman I stand next to they say I'm dating. It'd just be awkward!'
